PAINTING

I have been so scared to introduce painting to the art list. I thought it would get very very messy and would lead to a grumpy mummy, who had made more work for herself. But it ended well, he was very good at keeping the same coloured brush in the same coloured paint, painting the paper only and not the blackboard behind it (or the walls, floors, himself or me!). And he really really enjoyed it and it brought out more of his creative side! He would explain what he was painting, so it helped develop his imagination and communication skills as well!

I made a disposable smock to protect his clothes from one of my many shopping bags. All I did was cut out a head hole, and 2 small arm holes. Worked a treat and I didn't need to wash anything else, just pull it off and throw it in the bin! I will definitely be making one of these again! I also used party cups to hold the paint for easy clean up! Straight in the bin and no washing up!

Easy homemade disposable smock! A recycled shopping bag with three holes cut into it for the head and arms. Worked a treat and we will definitely be making this again!
