AUGUST RENOVATION PROGRESS

I feel as though we haven't achieved much, but as I look back over the month quite a few things have been done. And although they are not things I can tick off my list, there has been a lot of progress made which will get us ahead this month, with hopefully a couple of rooms being completed! August saw a couple of rainy weeks which meant there were a couple of days that Hubby and some of his workers could not get out on site, so instead of paying them to sit at home, they came over to our place and helped us out with some of the renovating. We also took some time off over two weeks with our son turning three one weekend and then throwing him a birthday party the week after!

We got the base coat on the hallway walls for the feature rendered wall
We painted the majority of Israel's room with only a couple more coats of colour to go.
We plastered up the nursery.
We created the space for the nursery wardrobe, unfortunately this wardrobe will be smaller than Israels, as we needed to take some of the space for the ducted heating air intake and I wanted a shoe cabinet in the entrance so the shoes, bags and coats are nice and tucked away.
We had some more progress on the plumbing, but as my main goal is to get the nursery wardrobe complete, so I can start unpacking some of the boxes which are cluttering my formal living area.

  3. I've just written a few blogs for a company about renovating, it seems like such hard work - I love the hallway!
Bet you can't wait to get it all done - you must be a very patient person :)

    1. It can be very hard work, especially if you don't know what you are doing! Thanks, the hallway has become one of my favourite parts of the house! I am beyond impatient! But I have given hubby a deadline of my 30th in 3 years and 3 months (counting down already lol!) I know anything sooner is unrealistic financially, physically and emotionally!

    1. Yes it can be! Especially with a deadline and budget! Oh wow I wasn't game enough for an extension, I knew hubby would want to do it all himself in 'all his free time' so we bought something that was large enough but run down, so at least I can still use it even though it is UGLY!!! I know exactly how you are feeling (add crazy and pregnant to the mix and it get's worse lol)

    1. Haha yes, when we take a break I get all excited and motivated and then we get stuck into it and all the horrible memories of hard work, mess and living in a half (quarter finished) house for years on end come flodding back to me.

  7. Wow - it's looking great! You're doing so well. It couldn't be easy when you are pregnant. I know how tired I used to get. I just did a project which required a lot of painting - a new front picket fence and it exhausted me and meant a lot of other stuff was neglected. You've got my admiration!! xo

    1. Thank-you it's starting to look like home again and not just a bomb site! It's not the easiest, I am really starting to slow down now that I am in my third trimester, so keeping on top of everything is getting harder. I am absolutely buggered and am looking forward to the last month of pregnancy so I can just rest! Haha thanks :D
